Karen's Big Day :)

Yay!!!!

Karen, my dear sweet roommate from college, was sealed to her cool hubby on Friday, September 30th in the Logan, UT temple.  It was wonderful news to hear that she would be sealed to her husband and cute little baby and I was super duper happy that I was invited to come and see it.  I love being a part of sealings!

This is Karen, Masen and baby Hooper coming out of the temple after the sealing:

They had a photographer there to take pictures so while they were doing family shots, I took some photos of the temple and such - it was really so pretty.  I had never been to the Logan temple before, only seen it from afar.

Me and the Hubs:

Amanda and Spencer:

Ash! I can't believe I didn't get a picture of you!! Sorry hunny!

But I do have this lovely photo of me taken by Paul....lovely angle, I know:

Ashley took some goofy photos for Paul and I:  here I am rescuing the damsel in distress....all in a days work for me!
And then the damsel in distress wouldn't come with the handsome, I mean beauteeeful, rescuer and so she had to beg...and plead...and cry....and throw a fit:

The four of us - we missed you Lou!! Next time plan that baby better will ya???

Me, Karen, Ashley, Amanda:

Afterwards, everyone was treated to pizza and pasta at Firehouse Pizza.  I thought it was way nummy but even better was the several hours we were able to sit and chat and have fun with each other.  It was such a great night!  I loved it!

Twinkle Twinkly, Baby, Twinkle Twinkle

Last year, my college roommates met at my house to catch up. I wanted to add this video but it was too long and blogger was being a pain in my booty.

I gave up on putting it up until just now and even though it's been a year, I still have to put it up .

The focus of Mikaili's big beautiful peeps is my husband. I laugh every time I watch this! She is sooooo cute!

Logan 'Retreat'

Saturday was a super fun day spent up in Logan with my peeps from Snow College. My college roommate Ashley, and her husband Alan, live on a really pretty property surrounded with ponds and trees and horses and mountains (spoiled much?? ;). So the other four of us who live within the state (Brindee, can you come back to Utah yet??) traveled up to see her new place and her new baby.
When we got there, we enjoyed the most awesome homemade pizza ever made. Alan should have his own restaurant! We gobbled down five or so pizzas and some salad and then headed outside to enjoy the day.
I am riding the tire pony in the playground they have in the backyard, you can see I'm a natural:
Karen and I chillin' like villains:

All the husbands playing Bacci ball together:

Me, Mikaili and Karen playing on the teeter totter (I haven't seen one of those in years!). You should click on the picture on check out Mikaili's face. It cracks me up!!:

My friend, Lou, being such the goofball (any pictures you take with my camera are mine to blog with, sucka!!!!):

This is my Pau Gasol victory yell caught in slow motion. Paul and I had a lot of fun laughing at that expression during the championship...stupid Lakers:

It was discovered that Ashley and Alan's property had a zip line going over a fish pond. So we all gathered round and took turns on it. Here is my incredibly handsome hubby:
Amanda (4-ish months pregnant), Becky, Me, Karen (7-ish months pregnant) and Ashley!!

Some videos for your viewing pleasure should you so desire!

My Second Run:

I was going super fast on that last one and after I passed Paul with the camera, I realized I was going way too fast. I stuck my foot out to stop myself and that HURT!! It was pretty funny though.

We had so much fun driving up there and being able to play together and have fun. Love you guys!!

Baby Shower For Karen

As I was writing that title, one thought led to another and soon after I had a mental of image of umbrellas and raining babies. How odd...
Anyhoo!! This is my college roommate, Karen, and she is expecting her first! They are naming him Weston. That's her opening my present:

Isn't it cute??? Yeah, yeah I know - I'm fabulous! I have sorta kinda made my trademark baby gift for my closest friends a hooded towel with the babies name embroidered on the bum, with other baby bath stuff. She is decorating his room in jungle babies so there is a little monkey hanging off a branch next to the 'W'. I thought I was pretty clever.

I thought this shirt was AWESOME - I want my baby to wear famous Michael Scott sayings!!!:

My friend, Lou (ha ha ha - she'll either kill me or laugh at this...if I'm not here after nextweekend that it obviously wasn't the latter):

And the three of us - Becky, Karen and Me!:

I'm super excited for her! She is such a great person and I love her to death.

College Girls

Last Friday (the 7th), I met up with some friends from my college years that I don't see as often as my other roommates.
Debbie, Me & Amber:
We did a little shopping at the Gateway, then dug into some nummy Z'tejas while we caught up with each other. Like I said, we don't see each often due to different lives and busy schedules so it's really great to get together. We had some great times back in the day! Sadly, we were missing our fourth friend, Kori, but we shall meet up again!

Lunch Wit' My Girlzzz

Saturday afternoon I, being an extremely lucky girl, was able to meet up with my friends from college. These girls were not my roommates at Snow but they might as well have been. We did a lot together, and you could frequently find them at my place hanging out with me and my roommates. Pretty much the only time I have seen these girls since college has been at our weddings! We have never actually hung out besides that all together, although we have tried.
After meeting at South Towne, we enjoyed some nummy food at Mimi's Cafe and spent the next few hours catching up with each other's lives.

Me & Kori:
I love getting together with friends from college, roommates and would-be roommates alike. Besides a few awesome friends that I still keep in touch with from High School and another best friend from after High School, the girls that I met down at Snow have been my closest friends and (warning: corniness ahoy) I am forever grateful that I found myself there and made the friends that I did.

Roommate Reunion!

Later on Saturday, after we came home from camping and took care of some 'Saturday things', we had all my roommates from college over, except one, who we missed greatly. I was really excited however because Brindee was here this time and we never get to see her because her and her fabulous family currently live out of state. She is back here with her three kids visiting her family on a very long vacations while her husband is out working hard for our wonderful country!

We had pizza and yummy brownies from Schmidt's (thanks to Amanda) and homemade oatmeal banana cookies (thanks to Brindee). I was finally able to use my patio for a social event, although my backyard isn't very attractive right now. It was still nice to sit outside and catch up and socialize. Amanda just had a baby. Ashley and Alan just moved to Logan and were back for family pictures. And Brindee is going back home very soon and gets to see Ty at the end of October!

Paul chilled with Brindee's boys for the most of the night. It gives him an excuse to act his age :)

Hattie showed us her beatiful peepers...

Becky showed us how scary she really can be...

I was really bummed that I forgot to get a group picture of us girls. I forgot the last time, too, and it makes me really angry with myself. But we will hopefully be getting all together again within the year. I was so happy to see Brindee and have all of us girls together. We all met at college in 2001 and became the best of friends and have stayed very close ever since, which is something I really cherish!

Had Us a Gay Old Time

We had a crazy busy weekend!! It was lots of fun though. We started it off with a little camping trip with our good friends, Becky and Judd. Recently Paul had taken his scouts up to Grantsville and he has been wanting to go ever since! We headed out Friday after Paul got off work and drove out to Grantsville and picked up Becky and Judd on the way.
As soon as we got there we set up tents. I set about making a fire so we could get our dinner going. Becky made these awesome hobo dinners with chicken and vegetables. It was so so so good. We had a great time goofing off and laughing at stupid stuff and being silly.

Of course, we had to get our s'mores on! We sat around the fire 's'more' and made our treats. Becky and Judd brought bananas and chocolate and we made Banana Boats! It was a first for us and we really liked them.

Then we all went to bed exhausted! I was super comfy all night but we had a horrible time sleeping. Around 7:30 in the morning, I decided to get up and get breakfast going. We had to be heading out by 10:30 anyway so that Judd could study and Paul could make his football game.
I was really excited to finally be able to use our Christmas present from last year. My parents had bought the married couples each a Camp Chef stove. We borrowed the griddle (my parents own all the attachments to it) so that we could make sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns. It smelled so good that we were bombarded by giant flies the moment we sat down to eat. 'Twas very annoying.

I only burnt it a little bit! But the food was good - see their smiles?? :)

Then we goofed off some more, naturally, and played Phase 10 until it was time to go:

It was really fun - as is evident by our shining faces. Thanks for going with us guys! We had a super swell time.
