Sunday was a nice break from football - after watching the Cougars get maddeningly get spanked (AARRGGGHHH!), Paul and I went back home and watched our Texas Tech get stomped on. It apparently wasn't our day.
Something Sunday was not, however, was relaxing. I went to church, taught my lesson and delt with a super noisy hyper group of boys which was exhausting and then left Paul to take care of them alone during Sharing Time so that I could go meet my parents and drive up to Provo to see my cousin off for two years. Alex is leaving for Zimbabwe on Tuesday (and because I have a broken camera I was unable to take fun pictures of him before he left) and he's excited for the long (and I would say, scary) journey. I helped in the kitchen for a few hours and then we took off.

I then headed straight for Paul's grandma's house for a couple hours of his little sisters birthday party. This is Zoyie:
(This picture of Zoyie from my wedding is the only one I have...sorry!)
My favorite part of that was Paul and I and B.J. and Hillary played this:
and this:
How awesome are those games?? I haven't played them in probably fifteen years....it was such a trip down Memory Lane!

I Heart Lenka

I have a new musical obsession. Oh how I love the sound of this chick. She's new, she's Australian which I LOVE and she sounds so unique. Her voice is so tiny but she has this addicting sound. I can't get enough of Trouble is a Friend -it's such an amazing song. If you have a chance you should check her out. You will find yourself in love with her, too.

Announcing....

Yay for paying off debt! Besides our home and Paul's schooling (ouch!), we are totally debt free and I love it! I bought a 2001 4-Runner two years ago when my little red car finally drew it's last breath and it felt really good to walk into the bank last Friday and say good-bye to monthly payments (well all except the huge chunk of change that is missing from Savings account...that didn't feel good but it's worth it!) It makes me feel really fortunate to be able to do such a thing in a failing economy and I also feel really grateful that my husband is a hard working, motivated, smartie-pants who is a great provider and has a great job with great employers. It could be a lot different for us and I'm so grateful we have what we do. Paul: Here's looking at you, kid {wink}.

My Laid-Back Weekend.

Well i had one helluva boring weekend. Anybody else? Well except for Friday - we had Teresa and Paul over and played games and had nummy snacks - they are extremely funny people so we laughed our heads off the whole time. Saturday morning was a Pizza party for the primary kids for passing off their Articles of Faith. That was sure...fun. Paul won his flag-football game. They are in the play-offs now so that's a good thing. Oh - we saw Quantum of Solace. Can't say it was my favorite movie ever. Definately liked the last better. Went to a Slumber party...very informative. And capped it all off with a rented movie and retired to bed at nine o'clock like a bunch of geezers. Felt so good though.

My iPod Will Be Cooler Than Yours

I am going to own this exact iPod on Dec. 25th. I am stoked. My 2nd Gen. iPod broke about two months ago at the end of my run and I was pissed for days because my iPod is always with me. I listen to it all day at work and when I run so I was very mad that a) it broke at all and 2) i hate spending money to replace what i already had - HATE IT (which is why i am so mad that my camera broke because now i have to spend the money to replace that, too and i don't want to spend more money on a digital point & shoot when i am waiting to buy my professional digital camera. why Paul, why?? just kidding, hun) and c) i hate getting replacements for what i already had for a birthday or Christmas. In my opinion, birthdays and Christmas' are for fun things you didn't have before and if you have to replace something you just go out and do it. Don't ask me why i have to wait for Christmas then. Anyway, all the colors they offer for the 3rd Gen. Nano are so fun and awesome and I just can't decide which one I want to be stuck with and since I love black things, this is the perfect one for me. I don't usually get all giddy about Christmas but....I can't bloody wait!!!

Wait...You're at Disney Land?? Huh.

My sister messaged this over to me yesterday. I had no idea they were even in Disney Land so it confused me for a sec. It's the boys first real vacation and i can't wait to talk to them when they get back. Aiden will have so many stories and listening to him tell his stories is one of my favorite things. He has the cutest expressions and words and actions and it's pure entertainment. Dallin can't talk to much yet so I don't expect much out of him. I just love these boys like my own. They make me happy :-)

Greg Laswell Is My Music Lover

This guy is one of my many musical obsessions. I love him. His voice is like...sex dipped in velvety chocolate and wrapped in 1500 ct Egyptian Cotton. I fell in love with him a few years back with his first album and every song is the best song. Oh how I love him. His newest album Three Flights from Alto Nido is just AMAZING. He's AMAZING. Have I mentioned how much I love him? Well I do.

It's Bunco Time

So Paul and I belong to a Bunco group (don't make fun of us - we know you're jealous) and we get together once a month to play and it is seriously the best time ever. My friend there is Rachelle (that's an old picture at a previous Bunco) and she's the one who introduced Paul and I to the group almost two years ago and we became regulars and it's super cool. So that's what we did Saturday night. Besides winning or losing money (Paul won $13 for having the Travelor and I got nothing) we laugh the whole time and then end sitting around laughing some more. I just LOVE IT!!!

A Bed-Time Story.

My car was possessed by the devil in the middle of the night. We were dog-tired and out cold by 9:30 (Hallelujah!!). But a couple hours later my car alarm goes off and I jump out of my bed to hurry and look out the window to see if anyone's down in my driveway while Paul runs downstairs to get my keys. Well Paul is taking forever (sorry honey, but you were) and by the time he gets down there and is trying to open the door, the car alarm stops. So he comes back inside and we get back in bed but the second we hit the mattress, the car alarm goes off again. K, once freaks me out enough. It's been known to just go off for no reason that I could tell before but now I'm freakin' out a little on the inside because it was twice in a row and my imagination immediately imagines the worst - like, someone psycho genious is outside with his technology making my car alarm go off, screwing with us so that once we're outside he can kill us off or sneak inside or something. I blame CSI and Law & Order. I come down with Paul this time and wait by the door and I'm being all stealth and checking out the surroundings while Paul gets in my car and stops the alarm. He fiddles around in the car for forever and I'm getting really ornery. Finally he comes out but right as he reaches the front door, we heard my car spontaneously unlock itself. K what the fuh? Paul goes back to the car but it locks back up. He comes back, it unlocks again. Now I'm really sold on the psycho killer theory. But Paul is not - not that I told him my imaginings. So at midnight, my wonderful husband and I are in the garage, unhooking my battery so that my car will SHUT UP and the whole time he's doing this, my car will not stop locking and unlocking itself. So weird. I told Adam here at my work what happened and his theory is that my car is a Transformer and the only real question is whether it's an Autobot or a Decepticon. I like that take on it a lot better than mine.

Gingko Bilablah

My parents have become little comedians in their old age and I find myself laughing really really hard at their little banter. Listening to them laugh and make jokes makes me happy. For example: Monday after work I stopped by my parents home to grab a few things and ended up chatting for awhile. I can't remember what we were talking about but my mom was having a hard time remembering something (jeez, where do i get that from?) and my dad looked at her and said "if you go and get Alzheimer's on me i'm putting you away" and the look on his face made me bust up. So then my mom says "well i guess you better go get me some Gingko Bilablah." and we all start laughing because that's not how you say it but she couldn't remember how to say it which makes the whole conversation that much funnier and we are just laughing and laughing. So my dad starts making fun of her and says "it sounds like your trying to talk Mexican: 'hey Diablo, ginko bilablo senor, por favor.' If it doesn't sound funny to you than I guess it was just one of those 'had to be there' moments. But it really was super funny. I said so.

Happy Freaking Halloween

On Halloween, Paul and I invited some of our close friends that live close by over to our house to chill for the evening. It worked out perfect for Becky and Judd who were in the process of moving to their new home (Yay!!) and didn't have trick or treaters of their. Mana and Spencer joined us after their house quieted down like they did last year.
This is me and Lou. I didn't want to deal with my angel wings in my tiny home so I dropped them and was the Goddess Aphrodite instead. Much much easier to maneuver around that way.
And these are our boys:

I think the highlight of the evening was scaring the little trick or treaters. Judd (who had the perfect costume for it - See above) hid in our pile of leaves - See below:
And then when the kids came around he would jump up at them and then chase them down the street. It was sodding hilarious. My favorite one was three little trick or treaters (who were very cute and cooperative while Becky was filming them, all whilst they were unaware it was for our own amusement) whose Mom dropped them off on the side of the road and was waiting for them. When Judd jumped out of the pile of leaves and started running after them, they all started screaming bloody murder and the youngest of them acutally dove back into the car through the window. Fast little diver, too. He was there and the next second he was gone. I laughed really hard until I heard him crying in the car, but Judd said the Mom was laughing too so then I didn't feel bad. He only made us laugh harder when he screamed at us from the car.
Mana and Spencer joining the party, which was a good thing because we were low on condiments:

Aren't they cute?
And we rocked out to Aerosmith with some Guitar Hero - always awesome:

My husband couldn't keep his hands off me all of a sudden (can't blame the guy really) and made me look like I either got a skin disease or beat up real bad. I can't decide.
And my little Bacardi all sad cuz he couldn't join the party:
