The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

Mwa ha ha ha ha ha.

Yes I read this. Just now. Shut up.

Last night at 'Book Club', Twilight was brought up...as someone usually does...and one of girls asked if any of us had read this yet. I remember reading about it, and then forgeting about it. She said it was actually pretty good and, while I'm burnt out of anything Twilight, I decided to read it.

Verdict?? I liked it. I liked Bree and I especially liked her and Diego and I especially liked that it was short :) You really wish it could have ended differently for her. All you know of her from Eclipse was that she surrendered and that she really really wanted to sink her teeth into Bella. Oh, and that she dies. And Stephanie Meyer, I learned upon reading a little at the beginning of the book, felt this character jump out at her and went after it. Not too shabby, Stephanie. It almost makes up for you ruining Midnight Sun...back when I still cared...but I don't anymore. Just Sayin'.

Oh and p.s. - you can only read it for free for so long.....

New Moon Predictions

I am fairly certain that while New Moon will definately be a couple of gigantic steps up from the crap that was Twilight, I believe that it is still going to blow some chunkage. My brother showed me the extended footage to the New Moon trailer, and while the special effects look cool, the actors are still so blegch. It's no secret that I think Kristen Stewart SUCKS, and Robert Pattinson's acting SUCKS, and Taylor what's-his-name-is MEDIOCRE. But I am predicting that Ashley Greene is going to be the WORST actor in New Moon. From what I have seen of the previews, it's unfortunate that she has more than two lines in this movie. When I finally watch this movie, I predict that I will be rewarding Ashley with an imaginary trophy for being the SUCKIEST OF THE SUCKERS. Congratulations.

The Vampire Diaries

Once upon a time I talked about the new show on CW, The Vampire Diaries. It's been on for two weeks now and, although I still can't seem to catch it while it is actually on T.V., I do watch in online afterward when I have the time. My diagnosis?: I LOVE IT. The tv series is totally better than the actual books and way more interesting while still sticking to the books. And I don't even mind that Elena is a brunette, cuz Nina Dobrev is a good actress and very beautiful and her and Stefan (Paul Wesley)...YUM!! I am almost thinking that they should have found Paul Wesley to be Edward Cullen. He's way hotter than Robert Pattinson and a better actor. He has the whole sexy, mysterious, brooding thing going for him with the intense eyes. Swoon. The guy who plays Damon Salvatore - very yummy, too. He was on Lost back in the first season as Boone. The hot guys mixed with the sexy vampires....it's something I highly recommend!

Confession #4

Okay so I just saw the New Moon trailer and O.M.G.!! I have to confess that it sort of kick started my interest in Twilight again. After Twilight, I wasn't very excited about any of the other movies. I learned that Catherine Hardwicke wasn't going to be the director anymore and that was encouraging but I still wasn't feeling it. Twilight the movie just sucked hard. BUT!!! This one does look good. I was curious about what they were going to do with the wolves. I thought that whatever they came up with would be super corny. But, in the one shot that I saw of Jacob becoming a wolf, it looked pretty dang good. The acting looked a little better...but that's all irrelevant until the movie comes out. There was the one part where Bella gets the papercut and Kristen Stewart's acting was less than stellar. She can really suck. I hope that the dude that plays Jacob has better acting skills in New Moon than he did in Twilight. But if he doesn't, then at least his muscles will keep me entertained. He looks fantastic!! Anyhoo...I'm not counting down the days or anything but I do like what I saw. If this movie turns out super good my only regret would be that they should have had this new director do the first film.

Twilight the Movie...Blows Chunks Mostly

I had a little date with my husband and Becky and Judd Saturday evening. Now that most the Twilight tweenies are out of the way, we decided a matinee would be a good way to go and it was. We were able to avoid screaming, giggling (well there was some giggling - but no screaming!), applauding teeny boppers which Becky and I were thrilled about. But as for the movie itself...we were both pretty much in agreeance that it was as corny and gay as we expected it to be. It wasn't all horribly corny - I could stand to watch it again...but I personally have a hard time sitting through crappily delivered lines from crappy acting actors in a low budget film. Bluggh. The part that bugs me the most is that, if I were to have watched this movie without already reading the books and knowing what Bella and Edward were like and what was going on in their heads, I would have been completely lost with this movie and thought it was the dumbest thing ever because it just doesn't do a good job at 'capturing the magic.' (oy that was gay...sorry). I won't say more. You just have to see it - which I am sure we were the last ones in the world to do so.

More Twilight News that I Can't Believe I am Writing About.

I think the new trailer for Twilight SUCKS! Aaarggh. I thought it looked a whole lot less likely to bomb with the first trailer when they showed you less acting and more action. With this new trailer you see more acting and well...they look like a bunch of retards that just landed their first acting gig. It's not so much Robert Pattinson as it is Kristen Stewart and the cheesefactory lines she's given and doesn't pull off. And I don't so much like the directing. If you want to watch said trailer here you go. So my low expectations have been lowered even more therefore I have no expectations of this movie. But I am still gonna go see it so, Lou - we still have a date!! (and anyone else is invited as well). Oh and they have a new poster out - which is also not preferred compared to the first.

New One:
Old and Better One:
I still love the way he looks in this picture. I can't help but swoon!!

Daily Rant #1

So only after I wrote that waiting for Midnight Sun to be published was hard, I learned that it was only going to get harder. Apparently she has it on hold "indefinitely" due to a leak of her draft of this book. Visit her website http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/ for the details cuz I don't want to take the time. But can I just say how PISSED OFF I am?? To put up a teaser for the book and get everyone hooked on it and excited to go buy a pretty matching book to put up beside all of the Twilight books and then...CRUSH...say you are putting it on hold indefinitely because you feel violated?? Well thanks a lot Stephanie Meyer because now I am mad at you. Life's not fair - it wasn't fair that your copy made it on to the internet without your permission and it's not fair for you NOT to finish it and leave all your fans hanging like you just did. Not a good thing to do to people who have spent their money making you a millionaire and were prepared to do it again. Not a good thing to give people something that they really wanted and then rip it away. I think it's one of the dumbest decisions she ever made. (And I know this sounds like I am an obsessed and crazy die-hard fan - I am not obsessed or crazy but I am a fan and I was looking forward to this book more than I was looking forward to the movie.) The angry me says "F YOU Stephanie Meyer!!!" and the sad me says "Please finish writing it and get it published...pretty please (with sad puppy dog eyes) PLEASE!!! Do IT!! Do It Right Freaking Now!! I will be your WORST nightmare if you don't do this!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh I HATE you right now!!" Oh wait, that was still anger... hmmmm....I must be too angry to feel sad. I am torn though - to read the entire draft on the chances that she may or may not finish or not to read the draft so that it's not ruined for me if she does decide to publish it. Aaaargh.

One Word: Edward

OH. MY. WORD. Is this not the hottest vampire you have ever seen?

Well if you don't agree go right on ahead and shut your mouth cuz I don't want to hear it. K pumpkin? Alright, all kidding aside - I can't bloody wait for this movie to come out! To be honest, I wasn't thrilled about their choice of Edward. None of my friends were either.

I mean, Cedric Diggory? Are you kidding me? He doesn't look all that much like the most perfect vampire, let alone Edward. However - the more I find of Robert Pattinson, the more I like. Granted, he does have his moments where he looks more like a DB and less like an Edward.

(This picture? I don't like him much....at. all.)

Can't say that I am thrilled about this cover either. Kristen looks great. Rob.....no. Is it the hair, the look on his face, the lack of pectorals??....I just don't know.
But his Edward moments are looking more and more promising. I think he looks hot in these photos. Yes I said it - Rob looks HOT as Edward Cullen.
Love it.

Love it some more.

Doesn't look a whole lot like Rob, but still very handsome.

Oooh so mysterious you are, Robert Pattinson.

And hot diggity dang I want some of that.

I'm excited to see Rob play Edward. I honestly think he will do a good job. And now that I have said that out loud, if I come away from this movie thinking otherwise I will track him down and show him crazy. I can be that. All I can say is they (the whole frickin' cast and crew) had better make this a good movie. I do not like to be disappointed in something that I have high expectations of. That being said, we Twilight fans now have 78 days until the movie hits the big screens. That's not so bad. On the other hand, waiting for Midnight Sun to come out is.
