S'been awhile since I've posted music I'm grooving on - I get so much of it that I don't know why I don't do it anymore.
Along time ago, in a far away land, a young girl was addicted to Lifehouse. As in, listened to their albums so stinkin' much I could quote you every line from every song. (It's been a long time so don't ask me to do that now). But I loved - love - them! And I looooove Jason Wade's voice. However, I try not to make it a habit to buy every album from every band I love. I like to branch out (there is so much amazing stuff out there) and it would get quite expensive. I do that for two bands and two bands only: Incubus and Greg Laswell - no questions asked. So I stopped buying Lifehouse' after Stanley Climbfall was released and would just enjoy their main hits on the radio.
But then I caught them on Live with Kelly and Michael last week whilst doing a little laundry (whilst the babe stole and threw my laundry everywhere) and I HAD to get this song. Takes me back to college when I listened to them on a regular basis :)

Keane!!!
On Tuesday, June 26th Paul and I headed downtown for a spectacular evening of music from the amazing Keane, enjoyed by and with great company, Paul and Teresa.

I love concerts at the Gallivan Center...so laid back, open, outdoorsy (my favorite). The sound was great, Keane was awesome and we had a blast singing and dancing the whole night away!

It's been awhile since I've posted any music but guess WHAT???
Eric Hutchinson is back with a new album!!! Holla
I'm so happy!!
I was starting to think he was going to be a one time wonder.
His new song Watching You Watch Him is awesome - love it!!

"And I-iii Would Walk 500 Miles...."
How awesome is this song??
So awesome that I didn't understand why I didn't think to add it to my music selection forever ago. I remember listening to this when I was in grade school - outside of my school while we were doing outdoor water sports for some water Olympian thing that our school did. I couldn't get enough of this song. And, Benny & June is such a super cute movie! Haven't seen it since, well, the 90's so I might have to put it on my Netflix.
If A Song Could Get Me You
I have been waiting for this song to become available on iTunes for FOREVER!! I heard it several years ago and watched a video she'd made for it (which was super cute but I can't find it now).
The artist is Marit Larsen and she's a Norwegian singer, which may explain why it took so darn long for her song to get on iTunes. In fact, I'd forgotten all about it until I was cleaning out some stuff and came across a list of songs I wanted to get and there it was. I decided to try it out again and, WALLA!! Super cute song! This video is also super cute:

I love these songs. Lykke Li (a swedish indie singer) has several really contagious songs and these two are my favorite. Some of her songs are way out there (and videos, too). She is very creative though. After 'discovering' her, I was browsing some music and realized that she sings that really annoying song Possibilty on the New Moon soundtrack - you know that song that plays while poor picked-on Bella zones out zombie-style in front of her window while the seasons change? It has it's pretty parts but the pretty parts aren't worth me wading through the rest of it.
Anyhooslebees, I love these songs. Can't get enough!

Okay. I had enough of looking at the Harry Potter poster first thing on my blog, but I keep forgetting to upload pictures to blog about Thanksgiving soooooooooo....I bring you the music of Leona Naess. My favorite song of hers is Swing Gently. Love it. I don't listen to much of her but I like her so I tacked on a couple other songs, too. Yay.
**Alright. Scratch that. For whatever reason the stupid songs won't show up once pasted into Blogger. Effin Cuss. Go check her out yourself. **

Artistic Artists :)
One of my favorite bloggers is super rad Stephanie at What the Jump? She and I have such similar tastes in music that it's kinda scary. She posted about a great artist, Jack PeƱate, that I just love now and I wanted to share the video for Torn on the Platform. It is so dang artistic and creative and fun and I absolutely love great finds like that. This video reminded me of Do You Love Me by Guster. So I have posted both for your enlightenment. It blows me away how people pull something so unique out their minds...thank goodness they share!!
(The guitarist is really hot :) ha ha...hands off he's mine)

He Is We.
An accidental discovery but one that I am very glad to have made. I was searching for something on Google...first word was He...and, thanks to Google Instant, I found a super awesome band. I have spent all day listening to their music and, take it from me, it is fantastic.
Take a listen...you're sure to love them. Another song that I couldn't find to add but that is equally addicting is A Mess It Grows.

Jar Of Hearts
I love LOVE this song by Christina Perrie. So beautiful. Thought I'd share, because I have a generous heart.
I think the song is beautifl and the video is beautiful. I love the costume and the contemporary dancing. You don't see much contemporary dancing in music videos...it's really very pretty the way it's done. Anyway, check it out. I'm sure you'll love it. If not then I declare you boring.

Freelance Whales.
I am addicted to listening to this song: Broken Horses.
You should take a listen. The style and sounds remind me of a cross between Sufjan Stevens and Adam Young of Owl City and even Ben Gibbard (Death Cab). Plus, besides all of them singing, they each average a musical talent of no less than four instruments - and they play things like the mandolin and harmoniums and glockenspiels. How funny that they can all play something I have never heard of before. Hmm.
You'll also like Hannah...and possibly The Great Estates and We Could Be Friends.

Ahhh Jesse McCartney.
Never cared to much for the early Jesse. But the latter Jesse style I like way mucho. And this song is probably my most favoritest of all. I am trying really hard NOT to listen to it right now so that when I go running, the awesomeness of this song hasn't worn off and can keep super energized :)

Can't Be Tamed
I. LOVE. THIS. VIDEO!!!
Miley Cyrus, in my opinion, is totally kicking a** and taking names. Now that she is done with Disney, she is going her own raunchy way...as they all do (hello Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc. etc.) I have never watched an episode of Hannah Montana and I'm sure I would find it annoying. But watching her perform on her tours, and her music videos and at music awards on YouTube, you gotta admit, the girl is talented. The song she plays on the piano in The Last Song...she learned that in like, three days and she's not even a piano player.
You can't say that it wouldn't be totally awesome to be her...except when she goes Britney Spears crazy in about eight years. There's been much controversy over Miley with her dance pole performance (not as bad as everyone made it out to be) and her topless yet covered photograph done by Annie Leblahblahblah when she was what....15? (which was totally inarguably inappropriate). She's got an early start on disagreeable crap but with that said, and forgetting her age, this video is

Airplanes
I'm really irritated right now because Playlist.com won't let me embed a single song anymore and I can't figure out why. So instead of a pretty little colorful player at the bottom of this post you get a stupid link instead. Why do people have to go messing up a good thing? Grrrrrr.
Carrying on!
I am totally digging this song by B.O.B. featuring......Hayley Williams!!! Love her!! There is also a version with Eminem which I like a lot as well. Check it out...or don't, but then you'd be stupid, too.

I Love This Song!!
Wouldn't it be nice to be a billionaire?? This is such a fun song. Travie McCoy (from Gym Class Heroes) sings it with the help of Bruno Mars.

Playin' In My Pod
This is a little guilty pleasure. I was never a fan of Britney Spears when I was in High School - which is when, I believe, that she was HUGE. But an old co-worker of mine had one of her albums on iTunes and I totally downloaded it for the hell of it. It's really great music to clean your house to!! Anyhoozlebees, one day last year I found myself listening to her latest album, Circus, online - which, I admit I like...a lot - and my favorite song (on that album) happens to be Unusual You.

I'd Put Some Little Musical Notes Here If I Could Instead Of This Title
I have been waking up for the past three mornings singing this song - more accurately the chorus - in my head. I haven't been singing it during the day and it's certainly not even on my mind before I go to bed, but it's playing in my head before I'm even aware that I'm awake. "....I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind...." Weird...a little???

Playin' In My Pod
Decided to randomly pick a song on my iPod and share it every once in awhile. Your welcome ;)
Ride Wit Me by I Call Shotgun - its a slower pretty version of Nelly's Country Grammar album in 2000 mixed with Cupid's Chokehold by Gym Class Heroes (or Supertramp's Breakfast in America - depending on what generation you are from!)
It's quite catchy, darling!

Matisyahu
I LOVE this music. Last February, a couple weeks after Gaven came home from his mission, I was at my parent's home and Gaven was rocking out to this guy and his song "One Day". He was playing it so much that Morgan was going crazy - even though he liked the song, too. I couldn't get it out of my head and I started playing it all the time! It's an infectious song with a great message. I thought I would put it up since I have been hearing it on the Olympics now and then. I love that the song kind of goes along with the Olympic spirit. Good stuff. Anyway - enjoy!
