Just Hangin' Out

Friday my work let the whole office go at 3:00 so that we wouldn't have to drive home in the crappy snow during Rush Hour. That was super awesome. But I didn't head home...instead I went to my parents cuz I had something I needed to take to her and this way I got to play with my nephews who I haven't seen in awhile. I just love being able to play with them. Mom wanted to do something fun with her boys so she got out the sugar cookies and my mom made some homemade frosting. While they were getting that all set up, Aiden and I went on a quest for some knowledge. I loved watching Aiden eat up all kinds of information. We learned about mixing colors to make new colors, spiders, snakes, gorillas, brains, birds, Utah's state bird, the Rocky Mtns and this is him teaching me how an engine works:
So freaking cute. I love his imagination.
Here they are with Mom cutting out the cookies:
And Dallin grubbin' down on the frosting:
I love these guys!!

Christmas Parties Are Super Fun!

So Friday night was my work Christmas party and I love going. Every year we meet at the Jeremy Ranch Golf and Country Club and have appetizers and drinks and then sit down for a big fancy dinner. Everyone gets dressed up and everyone knows how much I likes to get dressed up!
So here is us goofing off before the party:
My husband straight belongs in GQ. Check out that professional posing!
Pics snapped at the party:
My favorite people at work - Heidi (left) and Ruth (right):
And this is us goofing off after the party:
Look! I'm Iron Man!!
I just love being silly with my man! He's my favorite!

And We Shall Not Go Hungry This Christmas

Found me a Christmas goose...several of them actually. How do you like that? Didn't even have to pay for it. It just walked across my work parking lot. Convenient if you ask me.

(okay i really didn't shoot a wild goose. but the thought crossed my mind.)

I am simply punishing those parents that would wait until the last minute to give their child a gift. And such a genetically improbable one. - Dwight

so i love it when my tree looks like this: presents are awesome. presents wrapped in my awesome wrapping paper are awesome. awesomely wrapped presents under my awesomely decorated tree are awesome. christmas is awesome.

It's A Small World After All...

So Paul and I went Cosmic bowling Friday night with B.J. and Hilary and, holy crud, it was a friggin' high school reunion. I saw probably 15 people there that I haven't seen anywhere from two to seven years and it just kept coming and coming. And then as the third couple joined our party, I was shocked as hell to see Ali Bunkall, who happens to be the little sister to two friends of mine that I have known since I was seven, and she was there with someone who went to my high school as well... it seriously was just the craziest night. Weird how that happens, no?

G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S.

Saturday night my oldest sister Amanda (the blonde) and her best friend Sheri held their 1st Annual Christmas Party and it was one helluva party.
It's one of my favorite things to get all dressed up real glamorous and fancy like, with the big earrings and fake eyelashes (with sparkles on them!).
My sister and her husband:
This is us just goofing off with our cameras, which Amber and I did most of the night.
Paul checking out (but not partaking of) the goods:

Primary Party

Paul and I threw a "End of the Year" party for our Primary kids Saturday morning and it ended up being a success (and by success I mean not too much yelling, nothing broken, no crying, and everyone being mindful...for the most part). We ate pizza and breadsticks first and the kids just had so much fun goofing off.
Then we had a Wii bowling tournament. Paul had the brilliant idea to do a winning bracket and it turned out so great cuz all the kids got to play fair amount of time and there was no arguing about who got to play next! So great.
Afterwards, we decorated sugar cookies for them to take home. I figured it would be an easy activity and they could go home all buzzed on sugar and drive their parents crazy. Go me!!
And lastly, a class picture.
It really was pretty fun!

Confession #3: Britney Spears

I am listening to Britney Spears new album Circus right now while I am working. I am still deciding if I am ashamed of that fact since I couldn't stand the chic when I was High School. However, while I am sitting at my desk completely ipod-less (I put my headphones into my computer and listen to all sorts of music online), I came across her album on Playlist and there are songs that I admit I keep re-playing because they are kinda catchy. Should I be concerned about this?

Twilight the Movie...Blows Chunks Mostly

I had a little date with my husband and Becky and Judd Saturday evening. Now that most the Twilight tweenies are out of the way, we decided a matinee would be a good way to go and it was. We were able to avoid screaming, giggling (well there was some giggling - but no screaming!), applauding teeny boppers which Becky and I were thrilled about. But as for the movie itself...we were both pretty much in agreeance that it was as corny and gay as we expected it to be. It wasn't all horribly corny - I could stand to watch it again...but I personally have a hard time sitting through crappily delivered lines from crappy acting actors in a low budget film. Bluggh. The part that bugs me the most is that, if I were to have watched this movie without already reading the books and knowing what Bella and Edward were like and what was going on in their heads, I would have been completely lost with this movie and thought it was the dumbest thing ever because it just doesn't do a good job at 'capturing the magic.' (oy that was gay...sorry). I won't say more. You just have to see it - which I am sure we were the last ones in the world to do so.

What?

Paul was walking into the family room when he happened to look out the window and find that Bacardi apparently has a new hang out. We didn't know he liked to veg out on top of his dog house but now we find him there all the time. I find it funny.

I Know We're Cool - You Don't Have to Tell Me Twice.

We finally have a camera! We went and replaced it last Tuesday and this is the stupid stuff we like to do:
I love my hubby :-).
And my mutt.

Pink is Sober

I am so digging Pink's new song Sober. Seriously, you should check it out if you haven't already. That's all.

Gobble Day

Turkey Day was pretty much awesome. I got to sleep in while my husband went and played the traditional Thanksgiving Day flag football. Then I got into some major organizing and cleaning which makes me happy.
We went over to Paul's side for Thanksgiving first. It was really nice and laid back and the food was great...or so I assume (don't ask me - I won't explain it yet). It was fun to hang out with his family and I am glad for that chance. His aunt and uncle were missing though because they had their baby earlier that morning. Yay for them.
There was nothing huge going on at my side of the family this year for several reasons but my immediate family did get together later in the evening for pie and games.
You can tell the pie was good by how much he shovels into his mouth :-)
Playing pictionary: however, we took more pictures and laughed at crazy things than we did actual playing. My sisters were high on something and it was so funny to watch them.
My sister and her boys: Aiden was attacking Mom with kisses and they fell to the floor laughing and Dallin wanted in on the action so here they are "Cheesing" for the camera. So cute.
And Dallin kept breaking Aiden's airplane so Grandpa came to the rescue:
It was such a fun day. Hope all my friends and family had a great day, too!

That is a perfectly good mini-tree, Kevin, and we are going to sell that to charity. That's what Christmas is all about.

Christmas is here!!! Yay!!! Me so excited. Wednesday night Paul and I donned our Santa hats and went about decorating the tree and the house. It's super fun to me and makes me happy to have lights everywhere in my house.

Paul retired from the decorating to play some NCAA football. Go Gators!
Awww - we're so cute!
